ESCOR started the year by strengthening its Trading business unit through a strategic partnership with the leading kWHr meter manufacturer in South Korea, Seochang Electric Communication Co. Ltd.

SeoChang is the primary supplier of kWHr meters for KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation), the largest utility company in South Korea. It is also one of the few suppliers of meter types approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission of the Philippines. Their products and services also include water meters and smart grid solutions such as Energy Storage Systems and Building Energy Management System.

The partnership was sealed with a contract signing held last February 7, 2020 in the new building also constructed by MIESCOR – Powertech in Meralco Compound, Ortigas Center Pasig City. Present in the event were Ms. Sung Hee Yoon, Seochang President, Mr. Ronnie L. Aperocho, MIESCOR President and CEO, and Mr. Richard O. Ochava, MIESCOR Chief Operating Officer. The partnership aims to strengthen the manufacturing and trading businesses of the companies by supplying key distribution utilities with state-of-the-art and quality energy related products and services geared towards building a resilient and robust electric distribution network for the nation.
